Yavapai sheriff meets with U.S. attorney general on school safety brainstorming

Cottonwood City Council allocates use of pavement preservation funds

The City of Cottonwood is moving forward in giving some public roads a facelift.

General plan sparks lively debate in Jerome

JEROME –– While no action was scheduled in regard to the revised Jerome General Plan, that did not stop the room from having the usual lengthy discussion on the plan Tuesday.

The first public comment, from resident and president of the Jerome Chamber of Commerce Kevin Savage, said he found the language “reducing the reliance on tourism” to be “disturbing.”

Booze and beef thief pleads guilty to attempted robbery

CAMP VERDE – A man who stole over $400 of meat and alcohol from Walmart accepted a plea deal on Monday.

Wesley Smith, 35, of Cottonwood, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted robbery.

Smith allegedly selected the meat and alcohol from Walmart and placed them in his truck in October of last year.… Read the rest
