May 24 open house set for continued discussion of Arizona Eco’s Granite Dells project stories

Another in a series of discussions will take place next week on the proposed Arizona Eco Development project in the Granite Dells area.

Representatives from the company will conduct an open house regarding the proposed annexation and development in the City of Prescott, according to a Thursday, May 17, news release from the city.

“This meeting is intended to present information and receive input from the public,” the news release states. “This is not a city-sponsored event.”

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 24, at Mile High Middle School, 300 S. Granite Street.

On Thursday, the city had yet to receive the official annexation application for the project, which is expected to include 3,300 homes on land north and south of the Granite Dells Parkway interchange on Highway 89A.

The proposed development began its public review in September 2017, when Jason Gisi of Arizona Eco Development presented the preliminary plans to the Prescott City Council.

Next week’s meeting comes after a May 8 meeting at Prescott City Hall that attracted more than 400 people, many of whom were concerned about preservation of the Granite Dells, including the iconic Point of Rocks.
